I recently started playing Detroit: Become Human (finally got a PC that can run it), and as a native Japanese speaker, I noticed something curious.

The mysterious term “RA9” sounds strikingly similar to the Japanese word “ありえない” (arienai), which means “impossible” or “cannot happen.”

Phonetically, it breaks down like this:

When spoken aloud, the rhythm and vowel sounds overlap in a way that feels uncanny. What’s more, I learned that the term “RA9” was originally printed only on the Japanese version of the game’s physical packaging.

That makes me wonder: Could this be a subtle linguistic clue? A hidden layer of meaning for Japanese players, or just a coincidence? Has anyone else ever noticed this connection?
